Rosacea: how to live with chronic illness

Many people think of a flushed complexion as an indicator of good health. But reddish spots on the facial skin may point a long lasting skin disorder called rosacea.

The researchers use this knowledge to build up experimental treatments which are being examined in clinical trials.

An estimated 14 million Americans affect. The factors behind rosacea are not clear. The state has a tendency to run in families, so genes probably play a part.

Although everyone can get rosacea, light-skinned inhabitants are at greater danger. Individuals who blush often may even be more exposed. But rosacea symptoms are often more acute in men.
